TrueHue Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2, 2026. Applies to TrueHue 1.0.0 and later on iOS.

TL;DR

TrueHue is built to be private by default. Color analysis happens entirely on your iPhone — camera frames never leave the device. We don't run third-party ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

Who we are

TrueHue is published by Finn Digital LLC. Contact: [email protected].

What stays on your device

What we collect (only if you opt in)

What we don't collect

Who we share data with

Only the service providers required to run the optional sync features:

Photo library access (Plus)

The Plus "Photo Extraction" feature lets you pick a photo from your library and get a 5-paint palette. Photos are processed entirely on-device using Apple's Vision and CoreImage frameworks. The image is never uploaded to our servers and is not retained by TrueHue after extraction.

Camera access

Camera access is required for the core scanning feature. Frames are analyzed in real time on-device for color matching. Frames are not recorded, not saved to your photo library, and not transmitted off the device.

Your rights and controls

Children

TrueHue is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

All traffic to Firebase is encrypted with TLS. Firestore Security Rules enforce per-user access — only the authenticated owner can read or write their palettes and projects. We do not store passwords; authentication is delegated to Apple Sign In or Google Sign In.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we'll update the "Last updated" date above and notify users in-app for significant changes.
