Where does provider data come from?

CareFind pulls from the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) datasets, and the National Library of Medicine (NLM) credential records — the same federal sources insurance companies use. For veterinary clinics we additionally use Google Places. We do not accept payment for placement, ranking, or visibility.

What is the CareFind Score?

A 0–100 number that combines verified credentials, board certification, years of experience, malpractice and sanctions history, and patient rating signals. Higher is better. The score is computed on-device and is identical for every user — we don’t boost providers who pay us (because they don’t).

How does Cost Scout work?

Cost Scout uses Medicare allowed amounts (the price Medicare reimburses for a given CPT code in your region) as a baseline, then layers on insurance-network adjustments. Real out-of-pocket varies by your plan, but Cost Scout gives you a far better estimate than the surprise bill at checkout. Cost Scout is part of CareFind+.

What does CareFind+ unlock?

Provider search, map view, basic credentials, ER wait times, save favorites, and the SOS-style Need Care Now? guidance. Emergency-relevant features will never sit behind a paywall.

How do I cancel my subscription?

iPhone Settings › tap your name › SubscriptionsCareFind. Plus features stay active until the end of the current billing period.

Restoring purchases on a new device

Open CareFind › Profile › Manage Subscription › Restore Purchases. Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID and restores automatically.

How do I delete my account?

Profile › Settings › Delete Account. We permanently remove all family profiles, saved providers, scan history, and care notes. Data is erased within 30 days.

Does CareFind use my health data for anything?

No. Health journal entries, symptom logs, and family medical info stay on your device by default and sync only to your private iCloud or our encrypted backend. We do not sell, share, or train AI models on user health data.

A provider's listing has wrong info. How do I report it?

Tap the Report info link at the bottom of the provider detail screen, or email [email protected]. We update the federal source if the source itself is wrong, and patch our database within 24 hours.
