How do I solve a case?

Fill the eight-clue crossword, open the evidence, compare three alibis, then select a witness and two records in Make your deduction. How to play is always available from the question-mark button.

How do I know a word is correct?

Easy and Medium show a Correct indicator and unlock linked evidence. Hard seals correctness until you submit the whole grid. You can change the difficulty from the case header or set a preference in Settings.

Where is the next puzzle?

Use Next puzzle at the top of a case or in your completed findings. Unfinished investigations remain in Case files.

How does competition work?

Compete includes 100 challenging crosswords. Up to eight local players can compare earned rankings on one device. There are no online players or prizes. You get one ranked attempt per grid; starting practice first uses that player’s ranked eligibility. Time continues away from the app, and rejected grids add a time penalty.

How do I save or move progress?

Progress saves automatically on this device. In Settings, use Export backup to save a copy, then Import backup on the other device. Import replaces the destination’s casebook after confirmation. There is no automatic cloud sync. Keep a backup before deleting or reinstalling the app.

Can I play offline?

Yes. The installed app includes all 200 mystery cases and 100 championship crosswords. No account or connection is required.

Settings includes larger reading text, reduced motion, sound and haptic preferences, and optional story-case difficulty levels.

Gameplay data stays on your device. Read the full privacy policy, also available offline in Settings.
