The alarm didn't fire — why?

iOS aggressively limits background apps. The most common cause is Attention-Aware Features dimming notification sounds when Face ID detects you're looking at the phone. Settings → Face ID & Passcode → turn off Attention-Aware Features. Also confirm Notifications and Critical Alerts are enabled for Discipline Matters in Settings → Notifications.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. iPhone Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Discipline Matters → Cancel. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep premium access until then.

What's the difference between Plus and Coach+?

Plus ($9.99/mo or $59.99/yr) unlocks the full app: workout programs, full meal library, advanced analytics, GPS routes, HomeKit evening flow, and the Become 40 journey. Coach+ ($14.99/mo) adds the AI Briefing — a 60–90 second narration tailored to your last seven days — plus premium voice, generative sleep audio, and Live Activities.

I purchased on another device — how do I restore?

Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID that made the original purchase.

My health data isn't syncing

Open the Health app → tap your profile photo (top right) → Apps and Services → Discipline Matters → enable every category Discipline Matters asks for. Sleep, Workouts, Mindful Minutes, and Body Mass are the most relevant.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent — every record tied to your account is removed within 30 days. Health data stays on your device unless you also remove the app.

The AI Briefing isn't working

The AI Briefing is a Coach+ feature. Confirm your subscription is active in Settings → Subscription. If it is and you still see a fallback message, the briefing service may be temporarily unavailable — we always show local templated content as a backup.

Are my health and journal entries shared?

No. Health data, GPS routes, and voice journal entries stay on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers, never shared with advertisers, and never used for analytics. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
