These Terms govern your use of the PetTrace iOS application and any related web services (collectively, the "Service"), published by Finn Digital LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("Finn Digital", "we", "us"). If you don't agree to these Terms, don't use the Service.
These Terms incorporate by reference our Privacy Policy and the Apple-required Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Apple LEULA"). Where these Terms and the Apple LEULA conflict, the more user-protective term controls.
You may create an account using Apple, Google, or email sign-in. You are responsible for the security of your credentials and for activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that a parent or guardian has reviewed and accepted these Terms on your behalf.
You retain full ownership of pet profiles, photos, notes, tag identifiers, and any other content you submit through PetTrace ("User Content"). You grant Finn Digital a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, cache, transmit, and back up your User Content solely to operate the Service for you. We do not use your User Content to train AI models or for any purpose other than running PetTrace.
You represent that your User Content (a) does not violate any third-party rights, (b) is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and (c) does not contain content you do not have the right to share.

We may remove content and may suspend or terminate accounts for violations.
PetTrace Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase that unlocks Pro features (unlimited plant scans, unlimited pets, AI Recovery Advisor on demand, optional always-on tracker monitoring, and Pro-only future features). Purchases are processed by Apple under your Apple ID; we never see your payment information.
Pro unlocks are tied to your Apple ID and restore across your iCloud-linked devices via Settings → Restore Purchases. Pricing is shown in the app at the time of purchase and may change for future buyers; existing purchases are honored permanently.
Refunds: All refunds are handled exclusively by Apple under their refund policy. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. We have no ability to issue App Store refunds directly.
The Recovery Advisor and Plant Scanner generate informational output only. They are not veterinary, medical, legal, or emergency advice. If your pet has ingested a plant, is injured, or is in an emergency, contact a licensed veterinarian, the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (888-426-4435), or your local animal control immediately. Do not rely on PetTrace for life-or-death decisions.
The Recovery Advisor generates a structured action plan from inputs you provide. Plant Scanner reports identify a plant and describe general toxicity information cached from a large-language-model source. Both can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. You assume all risk of relying on Advisor or Scanner output. Finn Digital is not liable for any harm to your pet, yourself, or third parties arising from your reliance on the Service.
PetTrace supports three tracker tiers. Each carries its own disclaimer:
The lost-pet safety core (manual lost-flag, last-seen map pin, Find My deep-link, basic backstop monitoring) is free and will remain free. Always-on cloud monitoring at a higher frequency requires Pro.
The Rx Food Locator inside PetTrace contains links to Chewy and Petco. Finn Digital may earn a commission on qualifying purchases made through those links, at no additional cost to you. We only recommend Rx-diet retailers we have affiliate relationships with; we recommend the diet based on what your veterinarian has prescribed, not based on commission. The Service relies on third-party services including Apple (App Store, Push, Sign In, MapKit, Find My deep-link), Google (Firebase Auth, Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics, App Check), Anthropic (Claude API), Tractive (if you connect a tracker), and others. We do not control these services, and brief outages, errors, or upstream policy changes may affect features. We will work in good faith to restore them.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR COURSE OF DEALING. Finn Digital does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that any Advisor or Scanner output is accurate.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FINN DIGITAL'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FINN DIGITAL IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) US $50. IN NO EVENT WILL FINN DIGITAL BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR PETS, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; if you live in such a jurisdiction, the limitations apply to the extent permitted by law.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Finn Digital and its officers, members, and employees from any claim arising out of (a) your User Content, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your misuse of the Service to track a person or third-party pet without authorization, or (d) your reliance on Advisor or Scanner output in a way that causes harm.
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Finn Digital only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you. If the Service fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, who will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no further warranty obligation.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account or via the web deletion form. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, limitations, indemnification, governing law) survive.
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be flagged in-app; continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Alachua County, Florida, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing in this section limits your right to bring an individual action in small-claims court.
