How accurate is SafePlate's allergen detection?

SafePlate matches scanned ingredients against the FDA’s 9 major allergens plus gluten, sesame, sulfites, and mustard, including known synonyms (whey for milk, hydrolyzed soy protein for soy, etc.). Always read the label yourself for life-threatening allergies — SafePlate is a powerful assistant, not a substitute for the manufacturer's allergen statement.

How do I add a child with a different set of allergens?

Profile tab › + Add Member. You can add unlimited family members, each with their own allergens and severity (mild, moderate, severe, anaphylaxis). When you scan, the result tells you exactly which child a product is or isn’t safe for.

What does SafePlate PRO unlock?

PRO adds: ingredient health analysis, scan trends & analytics, product side-by-side comparison, FDA recall alerts on items in your scan history, safe-recipe discovery, and (in the PLUS tier) a meal planner. Free trial is 7 days. Monthly $4.99, annual $39.99 (33% off), no commitment.

What stays free forever?

Unlimited barcode + label scans, AI food-photo recognition, restaurant menu scanner, GPS restaurant finder, allergy cards in 11 languages, multiple family profiles, EpiPen expiration reminders, and the SOS emergency screen. We will never put emergency features behind a paywall.

How do I cancel my subscription?

iPhone Settings › tap your name › SubscriptionsSafePlate. PRO features stay active until the end of the current billing period.

Restoring purchases on a new device

Open SafePlate, go to Profile › Manage Subscription › Restore Purchases. Subscription is tied to your Apple ID and restores automatically.

Allergy cards aren't showing in my language

SafePlate ships with cards in 11 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, and Hindi. If your destination isn’t covered, email us and we’ll consider adding it.

How do I delete my account?

Profile › Settings › Delete Account. We permanently remove all family profiles, scan history, custom allergens, and saved cards. Data is erased within 30 days.

Does SafePlate use my scans for AI training?

No. Photos and barcodes are processed for the immediate result and stored only in your private scan history. We do not train any model on user uploads.
